Today in Tha Wire, Hurricane Harvey's devastation on the city of Houston won't keep Janet Jackson from performing at the Toyota Center tonight. Janet's State of The World Tour jumped off last night in Louisiana, and will touch down in 56 cities before it's all said and down. Ms. Jackson has 4 back-to-back stops in Texas, starting with tonight's show in H-Town. For a while, it looked as if the show wasn't going to happen. Harvey brought Southeast, and Eastern Texas to it's knees. The catastrophic damage is unimaginable, and will cost billions. Millions are homeless do to historic flooding in every city and town, from Houston all the way to the Texas/Louisiana state line. That's just Texas! Southwest Louisiana also took a massive hit, with thousands in the bayou state losing their homes to epic flooding as well.

Yet with all that's happened over the last couple of weeks, HipHollywood reports the iconic singer was more determined than ever, to move forward with the tour. Janet even sent fans, a message on Twitter, to confirm the show would still go on. From backstage at the Cajundome, Janet said she was ready to turn it out in the boot state, and squashed any rumors of her not performing in Houston. Janet was not only gonna show-up, but she was gonna show out!

I was so grateful to be in the house, and witness the first stop of State of The World Tour last night (September 7, 2017) in Lafayette, La. Janet Jackson is 51-years old, and looks amazing! Girlfriend rocked the house at the Cajundome like nobody's business, and gave us every dime of our money's worth. It was a long time coming, but well worth the wait. We's also like to formally congratulate her on the birth of her sonEissa Al Mana in January.

Well get ready Texas, Janet is on the way! God knows, our neighbors can use something to smile about. After tonight, I gotta feeling things will be a little brighter. The legendary singer promised to have something extra special to reveal at tonight's performance. I will keep you all posted on what exactly that turns out to be.
