Adding to his recent list of accomplishments, including winning a Peabody Award for his Kalief Browder docuseries, JAY-Z has now picked up a 2018 Webby Award for his "Smile" video.

The Webby Awards recognize the best of the internet as measured by "the lasting relationships we build, opportunities we create and unheard voices we amplify."  The winners were announced this morning (April 24), and Jay won the award for Best Individual Performance (Film & Video).

"Smile," which is featured on Jay's acclaimed 4:44 album features his mother, Gloria Carter, who comes out on the song. His mom does the outro, reciting a deeply personal poem about the importance of living free.

"Living in the shadow/Can you imagine what kind of life it is to live? In the shadows people see you as happy and free/Because that's what you want them to see/Living two lives, happy, but not free," she says.

Actor/activist Jesse Williams also picked up a Webby this year in the Special Achievement category–he's the founder of  BLeBRiTY app and the Ebroji keyboard. And 2 Dope Queens won the Webby People’s Voice Award for Comedy (Podcasts & Digital Audio)
