Just Blaze Says Timbaland Is Down to Beat Battle Pharrell
Roughly a month-and-a-half after the epic beat battle that was Just Blaze versus Swizz Beats, Just reports the legendary Timbaland is willing to engage in a beat battle with fellow rap game luminary, Pharrell. He made the announcement on Twitter. You can see the tweet yourself below.
"Just got off the phone with @Timbaland. He said he's down for Tim vs. @Pharrell and they just talked about it. Wooooooo! Cc @THEREALSWIZZZ," Just wrote in a tweet late last night (April 11).
Skateboard P are probably as good with making beats and doing work behind the boards as any producers in hip-hop. Pharrell helped shape the sound of the mid-2000s as he produced for Clipse and Jay Z, in addition to folks like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Similarly, Timbaland has worked with everyone from Jay Z, to Jodeci to Nelly Furtado to Missy Elliott.
Just Blaze's tweet marks the second time in less than a month the idea of two production superstars have been mentioned as potentially jumping into a beat battle. A few weeks ago, Lex Luger challenged Soutshide to a beat battle for $50,000. Southside responded by upping the stakes of the battle.
“So, I wake up. I got a DM from Lex Luger talking about a beat battle with me, Metro, and Sonny,” the “Trap Niggas” producer said in an Instagram video as he clutched on to a fat stack of cash.
He continued, “Lex, this is $50,000… until you got a whole 100 on you you can gamble with, bro, don’t hit me talking about no beat battle … put a whole hundred on the table and we can beat battle.”
Southside and Luger continued going act each other, but talks surrounding the potential battle between the two stalled. Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen with Timbo versus Pharrell.
