Lake Charles caught a little disturbance earlier this morning. The rain hit the area pretty hard around 7 am this morning and covered a good majority of the area. According to KPLC TV, an EF-1 tornado caused damage on Taylor and Roosevelt street.

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado lifted a roof off of a home and caused some damage to a few neighboring homes in the area. There were no injuries reported, but I am sure the family was a little shaken up.

At the current moment, the skies are clearing up a little with a small chance of rain coming back later this evening and possibly tomorrow. The temperature has slowly dropped, but there are no other reports of damage in the Lake Charles area. We will keep you informed as soon as we get the information here.
