Lake Charles Man Arrested for L’Acadie Drive Home Invasion and a Separate Incident
Lake Charles Police Department SWAT Team members and detectives traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas to locate Jonahvin D. Landry, 24, of Lake Charles. He's responsible for the home invasion in L'Acadie on Saturday, August 11, that resulted in the attack of a 68-year-old woman. It was all caught on surveillance video.
In a turn of events, Landry was also wanted by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office for a separate case. An hour before the home invasion on L'Acadie Drive, Landry lured a victim out of a home in a trailer park and beat him.
After further investigation, local law enforcement discovered the suspect fled across the state line into Arkansas. With assistance from Fayetteville police, Landry was located and detained. He awaits extradition back to Lake Charles.
Jonahvin D. Landry is charged with home invasion, second-degree battery, theft, and false imprisonment. His bond is $800,000.

The Lake Charles Police Department responded to a home invasion on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at about 11:10 am, in the 1500 block of L'Acadie Drive. According to a media release, the 68-year-old victim "heard banging at her front door". Thinking it was someone in distress, she opened the door with the intent to help the person. A black male suspect forced himself inside the residence and beat the woman. She was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries sustained during the attack.
