Today in Tha Wire in case you weren't aware Lil Mama was arrested this week.  It was kinda crazy, as the rapper/dancer/actress was initially stopped Thursday (March 10) for doing 38 in a 25.  But the routine traffic stop, turned more serious when the officer discovered Niatia Jessica Kirkland, Lil Mama's real name, was driving with a revoked license.

That was little tid-bid led to the rapper being arrested.  Of she was booked without incident and then released. Realizing it wasn't a good look, hiphollywood reports Lil Mama took responsibility and released the following statement.

“I would like to apologize to my family, friends and fans for my actions last night. I made a mistake and it was totally irresponsible of me to drive without a valid drivers license. My actions do not in any way reflect who I am as a person.

As I move forward, I have learned a valuable lesson and understand the consequences for my actions which resulted in my arrest.

I appreciate the support and the concern for my well being during this time. I have worked very hard, and I would like to continue to be a role model for young women and men. With that being said, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will take the necessary measures to have this quickly resolved and
corrected.” Lil Mama

Can't be mad at that.  We all make mistakes and hopefully she'll get nothing more than a lil fine and keep it moving.  Speaking of which on a much brighter note, Lil Mama doing music again and last year in December dropped a seven-track EP titled, Take Me Back. Check out the mixtape below and listen to some of the tracks.

Meanwhile the Trinidadian sista took the time to put her flava on Rihanna's "Work."  See she's working with below and let us know what you think.

In other news, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rap legend, Krayzie Bone, was forced to cancel his show in Canada and the rest of his tour.  According to allhiphop.com the rapper is currently fighting sarcoidosis, the same disease that took the life of beloved funny man and actor Bernie Mac.

Twitter to apologize to fans, tweeting-

Krayzie Bone is reportedly fighting to stay healthy as he deals with the disease. Apparently his doctors pulled the plug on his performances as a precaution.
Sarcoidosis is a deadly disease that attacks the bodies cells, by causing inflammation in different parts of the body from lymph nodes to the lungs.  Unfortunately the disease disproportionately affects African Americans.

We certainly wish him well.  That's Tha Wire for today, stay in the know every weekday at 12:50 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. on The Peoples Station 107 Jamz.
