It's been a while since a new rap group with several members, similar to Wu-Tang Clan or A$AP Mob, burst onto the scene. Lil Yachty wants to change that.

The Atlanta rap star is currently in London to perform at the 2019 Wireless Festival. On Sunday (July 7), he shared his new idea with fans on Twitter. "I wanna start a new rap group yung nigga wu tang swag bout 8 yung fly niggaz," he tweeted.

Boat previously had a rap crew titled the Sailing Team, which consisted of Kodie Shane, Jban$2Turnt, Byou, BIGBRUTHACHUBBA, K$upreme, Earl The Pearll and Burberry Perry. The group released a compilation project in 2016 titled Lil Yachty Presents: Sailing Team. Things did not work out, however, with the group eventually disbanding. Yachty blamed the split on work ethic.

“They were just really lazy. Not even a thing where they were envious or jelly, they were just really lazy,” he said in a recent interview. “I was like, ‘Why am I sitting here trying so hard to make you guys?’ That’s the thing, I never wanted money from my friends either, I just wanted them to be great. I never signed any of them. I never put none of them on paper because I didn’t want that. I wanted them to get their own labels.”

Who do you think should join Boat's rap group?

In other music-related news, the QC rhymer is prepping the release of his new project Lil Boat 3.
