YG has denied any involvement in the deadly shootout on Wednesday night (July 3) between police and suspects in a black Cadillac Escalade that authorities say was registered to the Compton rapper.

On Friday (July 5), YG jumped on his Twitter page and tweeted his alibi. The Compton rapper stated that he was in the recording studio in Hollywood all day and was nowhere near the scene of the incident.

"I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day. I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened!" YG wrote.

As we previously reported, the shootout began after deputies from the Los Angeles County tried to pull over the black Cadillac Escalade for reckless driving. The deputy-involved shooting started in Compton, Calif., at about 11:35 p.m., and led to a pursuit, which ended in Inglewood, Calif.

A man was killed at the scene, and authorities believe he was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.

At least one person has been arrested and another suspect remains at large.

YG might have just been linked to a Compton shootout.

According to L.A.'s ABC7 Eyewitness News, the shootout began to unfold after deputies from the Los Angeles County tried to pull over a black Cadillac Escalade for reckless driving on Wednesday (July 4). The outlet says police told them that the car is registered to YG.

When the deputies tried to pull over the car, someone or someones inside of the vehicle fired shots at them. The shootout reportedly left one officer shot and an innocent bystander dead. At some point during the shootout, the suspects fled in the vehicle and led deputies on a chase from Compton to Inglewood, Calif.

After more shots were fired at the police cars and a police helicopter during the chase, authorities ended up apprehending one suspect. However, they believe another suspect is still on the run.

While the police cars involved in the chase were riddled with bullets, the SUV purportedly owned by YG didn't suffer significant damage due to the fact that the vehicle is equipped with "aftermarket bulletproof glass" and armor. As of this report, police aren't sure whether YG was actually in the car at the time of the shooting. However, they are still hunting for the other suspect and investigating the 4Real 4Real rapper's connection to the suspects.

The wild police chase is just the latest legal issue to appear on the rapper's radar. Last month (June 23), YG was driving on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles after midnight. He was on his way to perform at 1 Oak nightclub when he was pulled over for weaving in and out of traffic. Once he was surrounded by police, L.A. County Sheriff's deputies claim YG got "upset and uncooperative and used profanities toward the deputies." While in handcuffs, the rapper passed a breathalyzer test and was eventually released.
