On November 5, the Louisiana State Fire Marshal, and the Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner issued a statewide burn ban on outdoor burning, but as of November 21 at 4 p.m., that burn ban has been lifted.

Outdoor burning is still subject to state, and local fire department regulations or laws, said a press release. Officials encourage citizens to use caution when engaging in any outdoor activities involving burning.

"Many fires were prevented and thus lives and property were saved."
