Marshall Simien Has Been Appointed To City Council As The District A Representative
We want to say congratulations to a friend of The People's Station 107 Jamz Mr Marshall Simien. If you have moved around the city at all, you are familiar with the family, name and face of Marshall Simien. Last Night he was nominated by Mayor Nic Hunter and approved to represent District A, A a seat that was formally held by Ms. Mary Morris.
The seat became available when Ms. Mary Morris passed away on August 9, and had just been sworn in for her latest term on July 1. This was a very important seat for City Council, and obviously we needed someone who would be able to withhold, and maintain the integrity that Councilwoman Morris brought to this covenant position. I have known Marshall since I first moved here, and have seen him really stand up for those of us in not only the Black community, but all of the residents in need of representation.
While this is an interim position until the special election in March. This is the time for Marshall to really showcase his personality and community skills that he is known for. As a community we need to do what we can do get behind Marshall and help by offering our support when needed.
