Retired Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch does not think Colin Kaepernick’s protesting of the national anthem poses a threat to the NFL or the United States.

Lynch dropped by Conan O’Brien’s late night show on Tuesday, and while there, he was asked to share his thoughts about Kaepernick taking a knee during the national anthem. “With what’s going on, you know, I’d rather see him take a knee than stand up, put his hands up, and get murdered,” said Lynch, as he stood with his hands up.

It’s good to see that there are as many athletes in support of Kaepernick as there are those who are against him. With all that Lynch experienced growing up in Oakland, he’s one of the few that understand what the protest is really about.

Watch Marshawn Lynch play Willy Wonka for the audience, as he also discusses his own line of chocolate bars to be released on Friday, September 23.
