Michel’le Talks Alleged Beatings by Dr. Dre, Suge Knight on ‘Wendy Williams Show’
Former Ruthless Records singer Michel’le spoke candidly about her alleged abuse by the hands of her former boyfriend's Dr. Dre and Suge Knight recently on The Wendy Williams Show.
Despite Dr. Dre threatening legal action against her upcoming Lifetime movie, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le, the veteran R&B singer had no problem detailing her alleged physical abuse she suffered when she was with Dr. Dre.
“I didn’t want to do this movie,” Michel'le told Williams. “When I was absent from their movie (Straight Outta Compton), the people started talking and then they made the opportunity visible.”
When asked why she stayed in the abusive relationship for so long, she replied, “I stayed because it was normal."
“After the first hit you don’t think they’re going to do it again. And it does escalate, but I stayed because it became normal," she continued. "I didn’t call the police because I didn’t want them to go to jail and it just was normal. I took it as a way of him showing me he loved me.”
Michel'le was also in a relationship with Suge Knight. She claims the Death Row Records founder only hit her one time. He later promised not to hit her agains because "she was too small."
Michel'le has a 25-year-old son by Dre and a 14-year-old daughter by Suge. The singer remains happy, single and confident in her daily life. When Williams asked her what kind of music she does now, she replied, "I do happy music."
Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le will air on Lifetime this Saturday (Oct. 15) at 8PM ET.
