Today in Tha Wire if there was ever a question, Missy Elliott's, still got it! At 45-years old Ms. Supa Dupa Fly, is still very much on point when it comes to the rap game and staying relevant. She's timeless and always on the cutting edge musically as well as visually. The iconic rap femcee just dropped her third single last Thursday. The music has fans wondering if a new LP is going to follow. It's hard to believe, but it's been twelve years since Missy has blessed us with a full-fledged album.
Hopefully that will change in the very near future. Meanwhile she announced the name of her new single last week, then dropped the fresh new music video simultaneously. The new Missy joint is entitled "I'm Better," and features Lamb. The track and video are classic Missy, from the sound, dance moves and over-the-top hair and make-up. Take a peek below!
If that's not enough, the world famous female MC is gearing up to release a long overdue documentary. So far, there's no title and no news on when it's going to air. All we know is there's one in the works and artists like Pharrell Williams, to Busta Rhymes are featured in it. Below is a sneak peak at the doc trailer, which sheds light on how phenomenal her talent and music is. More than that, how no one on the planet has been able to come close to her captivating style and futuristic flow. Peep the trailer below.
Missy Elliott has always managed to keep her music fresh and unlike anything you've ever heard. That is what she is to Hip Hop music. Missy has produced music for the biggest names in the game to include the late Aaliyah and Whitney Houston. She has set a bar no female or male rapper before or after her has been able to topple. She's Supa Dupa Fly baby! An I personally can't wait for her to drop the next album. Meanwhile the documentary is scheduled to air this year and soon as a premiere date and time are announced, I'll break you off with the scoop.
