Movies Under The Stars Returns September 30 In Lake Charles
It's Fall and that means the return of the popular Movies Under The Stars outdoor movie event here in Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles. The weather outlook for the next week looks great which is a perfect time to have this event.
This year's movie series will feature three Halloween-themed movies and will take place at two different parks this Fall. The first and last event will be at River Bluff Park and the other one will take place at Mallard Junction Park.
Laura Heller with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury said,
All movies will start at 6 p.m. Be sure to get there early to get the best spots. Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and food, but there will be vendors present at every movie. Also, free popcorn and cotton candy will be served at each event.
Movie-goers are also invited to wear family-friendly Halloween costumes to each movie.
The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has announced that the Movies Under The Stars begins this Friday night, September 30th, and the first event will take place this Friday night at the River Bluff Park located at 433 Theriot Road in Moss Bluff. This Friday night's movie will be Scooby-Doo.
Then the next event is scheduled for Friday, October 14th at Mallard Junction Park located at 599 August Street in Lake Charles. The movie that night will be Goosebumps.
Then the last installment of Movies Under The Stars will take place on Friday, October 21st at River Bluff park and the movie will be Hocus Pocus.
In the event of bad weather, an event would be canceled and will be announced on calcasieuparish.gov and on Calcasieu Parish Police Jury's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
