Nipsey Hussle’s Brother Recalls Rapper’s Last Moments Alive
On Wednesday (April 4), the L.A. Times spoke with Nipsey's brother Samiel Asghedom, who rushed from his grandmother's house nearby to the scene where his younger brother was shot. Asghedom reached The Marathon before the paramedics even arrived, and it was just in time to hear Nipsey's last breaths.
Asghedom revealed that Nip had no type of back-up since Nipsey didn't call his bodyguard beforehand, didn't inform anyone that he would be at the store or have employees who were armed due to the fact that they are felons.
"Because of that, the man was able to shoot my brother, start running, realize nobody out there had a gun, stop, turn back around, walk up, shoot my brother two more times, start to run, realize nobody had a gun, nobody was responding, ran back up and shot my brother three more times, shoot him in the head and kicked him in the head and then ran off," Samiel told the L.A. Times.
The alleged shooter, Eric Holder, was arrested in Bellflower, Calif. on Tuesday (April 2) and formally charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. After his bond was set at $7.04 million, Holder was reportedly placed in solitary confinement because police feared that he would be killed in general population.
Samiel is still mourning but says he’s focused on preserving his brother’s legacy. Read his full account in the L.A. Times.
