NYPD Officer Won’t Be Indicted In the Death by Chokehold of Eric Garner [VIDEO]
On July 17th, 2014, in the borough of Staten Island in New York City, 43-year-old Eric Garner died while he was being arrested for allegedly selling loose cigarettes in front of a bodega. During the confrontation with NYPD officers, Garner was put into a chokehold where he died.
Today (Dec. 3rd), a grand jury reached their decision not to charge Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner. A video does show Pantaleo during the arrest putting Garner in the fatal chokehold that ended his life back in July. A medical examiner later concluded the chokehold was the cause of death.
Chokehold’s are not supposed to be used by the NYPD, but sadly are not illegal...
