Oasis A Safe Haven Collecting Toys, Clothes And More Families Living At The Shelter

KPLC TV reports a Christmas drive is taking place this weekend at Oasis A Safe Haven for Survivors of Domestic and Sexual Violence. Oasis is a Calcasieu Parish women's shelter, that provides a safe and supportive place for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  They are dedicated to ending the violence in SWLA, through empowerment, various services and education.

Leaving an abuser is never easy, but it is the best thing a woman can do for herself and children.  The holidays just make that decision extra tough, because every parent wants their kids to have a special gift to open on Christmas day.  The folks at Oasis understand when you don't have a house or money, that is an impossible task.

They are on a mission to make sure the moms and kids at their shelter have a Merry Christmas by collecting everything from toys, to clothes and other basic need items for the women and children living at the shelter.  Those who would like to help donations can be dropped off at the shelter, located at 601 West 18th Street in Lake Charles.  For the days, times or any other info click, HERE or call (337) 436-4552.
