While rapping is a form of art and there is a such thing as freedom of speech, rappers still need to sometimes think or filter before they rhyme. Rich Homie Quan learned that the hard way and found himself in a tidal wave of controversy over his rap lyrics on a leaked Rich Gang track called "I Made It."

On the song, the Atlanta rhymer issued an apology after he was slammed for dangerous lyrics, in which insinuates that he "took" sex from a woman who was reluctant to have intercourse with him.

“I don’t want your h-, just want that cookie from her / She tried to resist so I took it from her / How are you gonna tell me no? / You must not know who I am,” he raps.

Quan issued an apology after he was slammed for his rape-y lyrics. The "Type of Way" rapper made it clear that he doesn't condone rape and says the song was not supposed to be released to the public.

"The song was not lyrically what I wanted to say and was not completed," he said in a statement (via Miss Info). Without my knowledge, there was a studio leak of the recording. I apologize that it’s out; and I have asked my lawyer to pursue a cease and desist on the song immediately. To be clear, I would never condone rape.”

Hopefully, Rich Homie Quan and his lawyer can figure out how the song got leaked and will put a stop to it’s circulation. Although once a song hits the internet, it never truly goes away. RHQ’s offensive rape lyrics comes after Rick Ross was slammed in 2014 and even lost his Reebok endorsement deal over his controversial rhymes on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.”
