There was a time when Rich Homie Quan and his former best friend Young Thug had the same amount of visibility, but in recent times Thugger has only gotten bigger and Quan not so much.

That may change soon, now that the rapper has signed to Motown Records, which was just announced. He'll also be dropping his first album under the label this coming spring.

"First and foremost, I would like to thank God for this amazing opportunity," said Quan in a press release. "I'm excited to be a part of a building that has such great history in music. I look forward to this new chapter in my life and giving my fans the best I have to offer."

Ezekiel "Zeke" Lewis, Motown's Senior Vice President of A&R and who spearheaded Quan's new deal, said he couldn't be more excited.

"I am thrilled that Quan and his team decided to partner with us for the next phase of his promising career," he stated. "We look forward to great success and helping him bring his complete vision to fruition."

The last major project from the former Rich Gang member was 2015's ABTA: Still Going In, and last year he jumped on tracks with people like A$AP Ferg, Desiigner, Jeremih, Jim Jones and others.

It'll be interesting to see what Quan cooks up under the Motown umbrella.
