Robin Thicke and Paula Patton Separating After 8 Years of Marriage
According to numerous reports, after 8 years of marriage amid rumors of infidelity, singer Robin Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, are separating.
The announcement was made today (Feb. 24th) in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE. The couple said, 'We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.'
The couple met while in high school, when Robin was 14, and Paula was 16. They dated for several years and married in 2005. They have one son, Julian Fuego.
They have proclaimed their love for one another in interviews, and Robin has even spoke about his wife's inspiration to his music, and also admitted that living public lives has lead to issues in their relationship. In an interview Thicke said of his relationship with Patton,
"We both have unpredictable careers. We work in sensitive fields where people are talking about your height, your weight, your skin color, your talent, your Twitter followers," Thicke stated. "A lot of times, a fight is because you didn’t like the way the other person responded. You didn’t have time to help them properly. There are so many little things you can fight about when you’re in love."
There were reports and photo's that surfaced on last year of Robin Thicke in some compromising positions with a fan, namely a photo of him fondling a female fan. The other of him with a young woman in Paris on the dance floor.
Sometimes people need to break and work things out, let's hope for the sake of the years they've invested into their relationship as well as for their son, they are able to work things out. We wish the both of them the best.
