Yesterday we had the chance to participate with St. Judes and their annual Radiothon. Our sister station Gator 99.5 has always been an affiliate and has achieved several years of success. So being The Peoples Station 107 Jamz, we felt that it was only right to take part and see what we could bring to the table.

It all kicked off on Thursday February 1st immediately after The Steve Harvey Morning Show and continued through yesterday at 7 pm. The outpouring of support was more then we could have imagined and when I say Lake Charles showed up and showed out, that is almost an understatement.

Last year $36,000 was raised to go towards St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. I had a chance to visit there last year along with Gina Cook and when I tell you that it was an eye opener and really made you realize that your problem is small compared to what some of those children and their families are dealing with. You better believe it. I love the mission started by actor Danny Thomas who wanted to make sure that no kids would have to die from Cancer. He pushed that mission until he passed and his family is keeping his dream going. St. Judes takes care of kids from all over the world and of every nationality. This year I am happy to announced that with all of the pledges online or calls and walk ins from donors, we raised $56,188.30. When I tell you that there was nothing more heart warming then being able to make the announcement of the total at the end. You wouldn't believe me. I want to personally thank everyone for coming out and for showing love to a great cause. All of those beautiful kids and their families thank you. I can't wait until next year to be able to do it all over again. Also big shouts out to DJ Ty Ski who donated two free parties where he will DJ for free for donors of the radio thon on yesterday.
