Lake Charles has had 5 shootings in one week.  Really?  Is this OK with you?  This area is in the beginnings of a major financial boom.  Several multi-billion dollar businesses are moving into area and are looking to employee anyone who wants job.  The last thing we want to do as a city, is run them off because violence and crime has gotten out of control.

National Night Out is a part of the National Association of Town Watch, which is a major advocate for neighborhood safety.  It's time to take a stand and run the criminals out of our neighborhoods.  Many neighborhoods in Lake Charles and surrounding areas have already begun organizing neighborhood watch programs to do just that.  If your tired of the shootings, burglaries, drugs and crime, here's an opportunity for YOU to get involved.

National Night Out is designed to heighten community awareness of crime and drug prevention, plus safety and fire prevention as well.  Helping to spread the importance of neighborhood safety are: The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, Louisiana State Police, Calcasieu Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Wild Life and Fishers, Sulphur Fire Department, the U.S. Border Patrol and others.

Come out, arm yourself and neighbors with information on how to keep you, your families and communities safe.  A strong community begins with neighbors that care and watch-out for one another and their property.  This is a free event and open to everyone.

National Night Out will take place Tuesday, August 5th all over the nation.  Join the fight against crime in your neighborhood.  Meeting will take place in Lake Charles at Glad Tidings Church, located at 3501 Texas Street from 6 pm – 8 pm.  In Sulphur at West Cal Arena, located at 2900 Ruth Street also from 6 PM - 8:00 PM.

Take a stand and run crime out of your neighborhood!
