The first March Teen Connection, presented by the City of Lake Charles for local teenagers ages 13 to 18, is set for Thursday, March 7, from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, at the Cpl Donald Ray Stevens Center, formerly Goosport Recreation, located at 1619 Cessford St.

Thursday, March 7: Cary Chavis of Speak Pretty Development will teach teens how to communicate through debate. The Power of Persuasion will focus on this skill that LinkedIn recently revealed as a top skill most worth learning in 2019. According to the study, strengthening what is often considered a “soft skill” is one of the best investments you can make in your career. These skills never go out of style.

"Teen Connection” is designed to help teenagers learn job skills, college prep, social media, interview skills, and ACT prep among others. The classes are instructed by educators, government officials, and business leaders in the community.
