The City of Lake Charles releases dates for the latest Teen Connection sessions for local high school students on Thursday, February 7, and Thursday, February 21, from 5 pm – 6 pm.

Thursday, February 7: Julian Green, Program Director at BBBS SWLA, will teach teens that they are never too young to start an organization that addresses problems or fills a void in their community. He’ll also discuss steps to take to get a nonprofit organization started. This session will be held at the Cpl Donald Ray Stevens Center, formerly Goosport Recreation, located at 1619 Cessford St.

Thursday, February 21: Teen Connection will take a closer look at how teens can start their own business. For this session, the City of Lake Charles is teaming up with Ward 3 Recreation and the event will be held at the Huber Park Community Center located at 2401 4th Ave.

"Teen Connection” is designed to help teenagers learn job skills, college prep, social media, interview skills, and ACT prep among others. The classes are instructed by educators, government officials, and business leaders in the community.
