The latest "Teen Connections" seminars for local high school students will focus on Teen Banking Basics and Becoming a Better Writer. The seminars are for teens ages 13-18 and are scheduled for Thursday, December 6, and Thursday, December 13.

This month’s free sessions have been moved and will be held from 5 pm - 6 pm at the Ward 3 Recreation Huber Park Community Center, located at 2401 4th Avenue.

“Teen Connection” is designed to help teenagers learn job skills, college prep, social media, interview skills, and ACT prep among others. The classes are instructed by educators, government officials, and business leaders in the community.

 

  • Thursday, December 6, Teen Connection will tackle Banking for Teens. Representatives from Hancock Whitney will be on hand to provide valuable information on what teens need to know when entering the financial world for the first time.
  • Thursday, December 13, Teen Connection will focus on teaching teens how to Become a Better Writer in Five Easy Steps. Even in today’s digital world of sometimes shorthand communication, the written word remains vitally important. The ability to communicate ideas, opinions, and information in a clear, concise manner remains a top skill for any professional.
