While this weekend was a busy time for yours truly. It was all about being out and in the community. Being in the heart of so many pressing weather conditions. We have seen plenty of hurricanes hit out area including Rita, Ike, Gustav and felt the magnitude of Hurricane Katrina as well. This past weekend the National Hurricane Museum and Science Center held the Hurricane Preparedness day.

This was a wonderful event for everyone in the family. They had helicoptors on display for the kids to take pictures in, as well as the LCPD being on hand to participate in the drug take back day. I was also able to move around and visit with plenty of folks who had booths for food as well as small sessions for you to sit in on and get information about how to prepare for hurricanes and more. Check out some of my photos from below and see how the day turned out.

The NHMSC is going to be something to be excited about. It will be an attraction that people from afar as well as here will be able to be pride of. I had a great time with plenty of friendly faces and food for all to enjoy. If you get the chance make sure you check out the museum and spread the word to those abroad.
