Today in Tha Wire it's been a week since the alleged attack on Empire star Jussie Smollett took place. So far the authorities have nothing but a couple of pictures as far as the suspects go. Unfortunately, video footage has only picked up vague images of two people walking side-by-side wearing dark clothing on a dark street. The timestamp is right, and that's about it in that frame. Other footage shows the FOX TV star walking on the opposite side of the road, but at this point, authorities have nothing linking anyone to a crime. No suspects. No evidence. However, authorities said, that it's not unusual not to have video footage.

The Washington Post reported Friday (Feb. 1, 2019) Chicago police are following every lead, and have been searching through hours and hours of surveillance footage. According to Chicago’s ABC 7, Chi-Town Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said on The Morning Show of Smollett, “He’s a victim right now, and we’ll treat him like a victim. He’s been very cooperative and we have no reason, at this point, to think that he’s not being genuine with us.”

In case anybody got it twisted, Jussie's sister actress Jurnee Smollett-Bell released a statement on behalf of the Smollett family to address any confusion surrounding the alleged attack. Via her Instagram page she made it known Jussie's family has his back:

We will keep you posted.
