107 Jamz Welcomes Diva D & The Return Of The All New Zydeco Jamboree

Surprise ya'll! Now, before I go any further, let me address the elephant in the room. I'm sure a few people in the community may have thought that Gina Cook and Darleen Wesley had beef. I can see how folks could make that assumption because we worked at different radio stations in the same market.

To be honest, I can count the times on 1 hand (and not use all my fingers) that we've been to the same place at the same time. Crazy right? The truth is, we've always been aware of each other, but really we barely knew each other even after all these years.

Were we competing against each other? Yes. Competition makes you better. And if you ain't tryin' to be the best at what you do, what are you doin' it for? DJs are naturally competitive because we're passionate about the music. If you don't give a damn about what you're playing, YOU AIN'T NO DJ!

However, every radio station in the market is competing against one another to lock down the highest ratings and make the most sales. As for the Midday Diva and Diva D, It's all love. I genuinely look forward to working with her, and FYI we already have two MAJOR events lined up for next. Stay close details are coming soon!

Darleen “Diva D” Wesley is an admired, respected, and award-winning local radio personality with more than 29 years of experience. She has been committed to giving back to her community through partnerships with local schools and assisting in the growth of small businesses through radio.

One of her greatest achievements has been being a wife of 29 years and a mother of three amazing children. Darleen 'Diva D' Wesley was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, and is a native of Sunset, Louisiana. She holds a bachelor's degree from McNeese State University. In her free time, she enjoys attending concerts, zydeco dancing, and hanging out with family and friends.
