Your little girl could be the next Miss Mardi Gras of Southwest Louisiana. Mardi Gras of Southwest Louisiana invites all young ladies in the area to enter the 2016 Miss Mardi Gras of Southwest Louisiana Pageant, this Saturday January 9.  Come to the Contraband Room in the Lake Charles Civic Center, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive, and enter the competition.

They are looking for young ladies between the ages of 5 and 23 for Miss divisions and ages 24 and up, to enter the Ms. division.  There are eight different age categories and entry times will vary.  For participants ages 5-15 pageant entries will begin at 9 a.m, on-stage: 10:00 A.M. For participants 16 years old and up. Registration: 2:00 pm Interviews 4:00 PM, On Stage Competition 7:00 P.M, Entry forms are available www.swlamardigras.com. Absolute Deadline: January 6, 2016 by 5:00 PM

The only requirement is contestants must be residents of the following Parishes: Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron or Jeff Davis.  The queens will reign over the 2016 Mardi Gras festivities in Lake Charles and be presented at parades and various events. There is a small entry fee; $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 years old and under. Programs are $5 each.
