2019 “Walk Like MADD” at Lake Charle Civic Center, Saturday, September 14

On Saturday, September 14, MADD will come together to help spread awareness about ending drunk driving, as well as remembering so many taken away from their family and friends due to the negligence of drunk drivers.

Walk Like MADD Lake Charles will kick off at the Lake Charles Civic Center amphitheater, from 7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. Registration is from 7:00am to 7:50am. Event time is 8:15am to 11:00am.

If you would like to donate to the cause, get more details at their walklikemadd.org site. You can sign up as a walker, but there’s also an option for virtual walker for those who can not be present but wish to donate to another walker or team.

I lost a dear friend, Jeremy Olivier, on September 27, 2014, in a tragic accident when the SUV he was driving was hit head-on by a drunk driver in a pickup truck, in Sulphur, La. Any chance I get to participate, I do it in his name. He's sorely missed by his family and friends.
