Anita Baker Breaks Her Silence On Being Wanted By The Police — Tha Wire [VIDEO]

Anita Baker says she was shocked that a home renovation has escalated to a bench warrant for her arrest.  Now, she's telling her side of the story.

According to TMZ the legendary songstress said she doesn’t know what’s going on because she never received notice of the court hearing and she wasn't aware that a lawsuit was filed against her. Anita Baker told TMZ,  "I've never been in trouble with the law.  I'm terrified."

Baker says she was blindsided by the lawsuit, filed by Ray A. Smith Decorating & Painting.  According to reports the R&B diva hired the company in 2009 to repair storm damage on the outside of her Grosse Point, Mich. home, but they never completed the work.  They charged her $75,000 for the repairs, in which she claims she paid $60,000 of that up front.   Baker explained when they cut out on finishing the job, she did the remainder of the spackling herself. She was never served with legal papers, Baker said.

In other news, Ciara should be having her first child any day now.  Her bundle of joy was in the spotlight on Saturday’s (March 23) baby shower, which she celebrated among family and friends.  The intimate soiree was hosted by her besties La La Anthony, Kim Kardashian, Lisa Ellis and Yolonda Frederick.

The singer glowed in a Naeem Khan caftan and was all smiles as she enjoyed the special occasion.  CiCi and her fiance’ Future are expecting a baby boy, so of course blue was the color of the day.   If that wasn’t enough of an indication, center stage were a pair of baby Jordan Melo sneakers compliments of Carmelo Anthony.  The 28-year old mommy- to- be posted plenty of picks to commemorate the day.  Ciara wrote on Instagram

Finally, Nick Cannon set the Internet on fire, triggering mixed reactions when a pic of him as a white man hit the net.  What’s it all about?  Promotion of his forthcoming album White People Party Music.  The Wild ‘N Out creator posted the pics on his Instagram all made up as a white man, an actually required a second look the make-up so good.  The photo included the caption,

“It’s official… I’m White!!! #WHITEPEOPLEPARTYMUSIC#Wppm in stores April 1st!!!!!!Dude Go Get It!!!Join The Party!!!!” Cannon also posted a video introducing his new character as Connor Smallnut.  Check out for yourself.
