Eighth Defendant in 6ix9ine Racketeering Case Pleads Guilty

UPDATE: Two days after Kintea "Kooda B" McKenzie became the eighth defendant in the 6ix9ine racketeering case, Denard Butler has reversed his not guilty plea and joined the list.

According to court documents obtained by XXL, Butler pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy during a change of plea hearing on Wednesday (June 5). He is set to be sentenced on Sept. 20.

Now that Butler has pled guilty, Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Roland "Ro Murda" Martin are the only Tekashi racketeering case defendants that have held onto their pleas of not guilty.

An eighth defendant in the 6ix9ine racketeering case has officially pleaded guilty.

According to court documents obtained by XXL, Kintea "Kooda B" McKenzie pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering during a hearing held on Monday (June 3). This charge stems from a June 2, 2018 shooting in which shots were fired outside a hotel in Manhattan's Times Square.

6ix9ine's rivals Chief Keef and Tadoe were staying at Times Square's The W Hotel at the time of the shooting, but because the government doesn't list the names of the intended targets, it can't necessarily be confirmed that they were the targets of the shooting.

In the court paperwork, it's alleged that McKenzie, 21, accepted money to shoot at "a rival gang member and rapper" at a hotel outside Times Square. McKenzie is accused of helping set up the shooting, which was apparently meant to scare Keef rather than actually injure him. After pleading guilty to the assault with a dangerous weapon charge, McKenzie is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. The sentencing is set for Oct. 4.

McKenzie is just the latest defendant in the 6ix9ine racketeering case to plead guilty. Before McKenzie entered his new guilty plea today, six other Tekashi associates had changed their pleas from not guilty to guilty. Before McKenzie, Jamel "Mel Murda" Jones, Kifano "Shotti" Jordan, Jensel "Ish" Butler, Faheem "Crippy" Walter, Aaron "Bat" Young and Fuguan Lovick entered guilty pleas for varying charges related to the 6ix9ine racketeering case. In total, there are seven people who pleaded guilty, besides 6ix9ine himself.

For his part, 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to nine criminal charges in the racketeering case on Jan. 23.
