Colin Kaepernick did more than get his point across by not standing for the National Anthem during the 2016 NFL Season. The soon to be free-agent plans on leaving the protesting off the field in 2017 to further concentrate on his career on the turf.

Kaepernick is reportedly expected to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, to hopefully play for another team. Before each game during the 2016 NFL season he either sat or kneeled during The Star-Spangled Banner. Though he plans to continue drawing attention to racial inequality and police brutality, he won’t be protesting on the field.

No word yet on what teams may be looking at Kapernick for the 2017 season.
