The City of Lake Charles is gearing up the annual Fourth of July, Red, White Blue & You parade.  Parade organizers are currently excepting entries for floats, marching bands, vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and golf carts.  Area organizations and businesses, to area residents and neighborhood kids, are all welcome to participate.

All participants are invited to use the red, white, and blue star-spangled decorations to go along with the theme and patriotic spirit of the parade. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and begins on Mill Street, then South on Ryan Street,  7th Street, ending at the the Civic Center Arcade Pavilion.
 
Then enjoy live music beginning at 6:30 p.m. from the Lake Charles Community Band, backed by the Louisiana Choral Foundation and friends.  Plus a little Blue Grass music from Market Blue.  There will be special recognition payed to our men and women of the Armed Forces as well.  There will be on-site food vendors so bring your appetites and face painting for the kids too.
Complimentary flags with be given out and this year’s festival t-shirt, designed by noted artist Candice Alexander, will on sale for only $5.  Stick around for the grand finale, the fireworks extravaganza over the lake beginning at 9 a.m.   Come one, come all, this event is absolutely free to the public.
