Are you a fan of fresh fruits and vegetables and other unique items, then you want to make plans this weekend to visit some of the unique Farmers' Markets all over Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana?

If you didn't know there are a couple of big markets that go on every weekend here in the area. The first one is the Charlestown Farmers' Market located at 1911 Bilbo Street at the Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center.

This market features Louisiana-made items including seasonal produce, eggs, grass-fed beef, pork and lamb; gumbo, canned goods, baked goods, local honey, organic juices, plants, and homemade arts & crafts.

The Charlestown Farmers' Market is held every Saturday from 8:00 am to Noon on Saturdays and it's free to attend. If there is rain or inclement weather, the market will be moved into the 1st floor of the building.

The other Famers' Market we found is in Moss Bluff. The Moss Bluff Farmers' Market page boasts that they have,

Locally produced goods including grass fed beef and pork, BBQ, Jalapeno Mustard, Salsa, Jellies, Pickles, sugar free ellies, fresh bread, stuffed breads, baby items, wood crafts, hand sewn items, caramel popcorn, cookies, homemade soaps, custom artwork, and more seasonal items from 30+ vendors each weekend.

It takes place at 325 Sam Houston Jones Pkwy in Moss Bluff every Saturday from 8:00 am to Noon.  

Go out and enjoy the beautiful weather and support or locals and have fun doing it.
