Victims Name Released in N. Goos Blvd. Homicide

Update, March 8: The name of the victim in the Thursday, March 7, homicide on N. Goos Boulevard has been identified as Javid Dwayne Duhon, 34, of Lake Charles.

Lake Charles Police were called to the scene at roughly 6:17 pm in reference to a shooting, said KPLC. Duhon was taken to a local hospital where he later died from injuries sustained during the shooting.

I hate how quickly bad news travels, especially considering that I know the victim and his family very well. So to the family of Javid Dwayne Duhon, I send my sincerest condolences as they mourn the loss of their loved one due to an act of senseless violence in our community.

March 7: According to KPLC, the Lake Charles Police Department is investigating a homicide on N. Goos Blvd., near Knapp St. The shooting occurred on Thursday evening, said the news site.

No names have been released.
