It's that time of year where Forbes releases their annual "Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists" and it seems there's a new number 1 since last year (2017). Can you guess who that person is? I'll give you a hint, he had one of the best hip-hop albums of 2017. Give up? Ok, it's Jay-Z.

In 2017 Diddy was on top with $820 million to his name, and Jay-Z right behind him with $810 million. A year lady Jigga's net worth has shot up to $900 million, with Diddy only seeing an increase of $5 million to make his overall net worth $825 million in 2018. It's not as if that's a bad thing, by the way.

Jay can reportedly thank his investment in Armand de Brignac champagne and D'Usse Cognac, as well as his stake in Roc Nation and Tidal for the growth. I'm sure sales of his latest album 4:44 helped too.

Diddy is still raking in money from his 50% ownership in DeLeon Tequila and his deal with Circo brand owner Diageo. Let's also not forget about his REVOLT television network.

Dr. Dre is still holding on to the number 3 spot jumping from $740 million in 2017 to $770 million in 2018. It's also reported that once his Apple stock vests, that could add another $100 million to his net worth.

Eminem and Drake are tied in the number 4 and 5 spot with $100 million each, and Birdman for the first time in quite some time drops from the top 5 with $90 million to his name. Most of the Cash Money Records founders decline in his net worth is contributed to his personal issues as of lately. He seems to owe everyone money these days.
