Lake Charles Man Arrested on 2 Counts of Failure to Register as Sex Offender
A routine sex offender check by a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit detective on April 26, lead to the arrest of convicted sex offender, Harold K. Ramuar, 55, of Lake Charles. He was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile by performing sexually immoral acts in 2004 in Calcasieu Parish.
According to a CPSO media release from Kim Myers, Ramuar wasn't at his listed residence on his sex offender registration when detectives went to do their check. They learned he was evicted about two weeks prior. Ramuar didn't contact authorities, which violated his sex offender registration requirements. After multiple attempts to locate Ramuar, a warrant was issued for his arrest on May 2.
A CPSO deputy pulled Ramuar over on May 23, for a traffic violation he committed in a vehicle not registered with law enforcement, which further put him in violation of his sex offender registration requirements, said Myers.
Ramuar was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of failure to register as a sex offender. His bond is set at $110,000.
