Lil Wayne Has to Give up Money to David Banner
Lil Wayne might be suing Birdman for money he’s owed, but the Cash Money Records head honcho isn’t alone. Weezy and Young Money Records also owe money, and a judge says it’s time to pay up.
According to TMZ, Wayne’s label has been ordered to pay producer David Banner more than $160,000 for failing to pay him for his production on “Streets is Watching” from 2009’s We Are Young Money compilation album, and “La La” and “P**sy Monster” from 2008’s Tha Carter III. Banner sued Young Money Records in July 2015.
In documents obtained by TMZ, a judge ruled in favor of the producer after Young Money failed to respond to the case. David Banner will collect $154,000 plus interest, for a total of $164,303.
Maybe if Birdman and Cash Money Records would pay Lil Wayne what he’s owed, he could pay everyone he owes. I can’t blame Banner though, that’s not his problem, it’s business.
