Louisiana Issues Statewide Collection For Puerto Rico Disaster Relief

Our sisters and brothers in Puerto Rico need our help. The beautiful island has been decimated by back-to-back Hurricanes, Harvey and Maria. This is why Governor John Bel Edwards orchestrated the Puerto Rico Disaster Relief initiative. Thousands are living in terrible conditions, have no power, or a way to access basic needs like clean water, food, or medical supplies. So please answer this call to give what you can.

There are drop-off sites across the state, and below is a list of where they are. Meanwhile, Calcasieu Parish residents can drop off donations in Lake Charles, at Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana, located at 1225 2nd Street. Items can be delivered daily between the hours of 10am and 3pm.

The statewide collection began Wednesday, September 27, and will continue through Wednesday, October 11, 2017. The ONLY items needed are as follows:

Diapers
Non-perishable formula
Baby wipes
Bottles and nipples
Feminine care products
It is important to ONLY donate the items on the list.
