Sulphur Man Arrested for Not Registering as a Sex Offender
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit arrested convicted sex offender, Tony Marcantel, 50, of Shreveport. Officers say they learned he had been living in a residence in Sulphur and failed to notify the proper authorities within three days.
This is required by law for all who are registered sex offenders. Authorities states that Marcantel, who is registered in Shreveport, had allegedly been living in the Sulphur residence for several weeks.
Marcantel was arrested on June 19 and was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender. Marcantel was convicted of molestation of a juvenile in 2002 in Calcasieu Parish.
