Once Was Inc. Annual Lake Charles Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway

Founded in 2018, the Veteran community outreach nonprofit group, Once Was Inc., was founded in 2018 by Petty Officer Michael Edmond, also known as “DJ N.V. Navy Vet” and his wife Racquel. The couple’s mission is to give back to the nation’s service members and immediate families. The focus of Once Was Inc is to assist Veterans who don't have access to a military facility.

This Thanksgiving holiday, Once Was Inc. is giving back to the Veterans in Calcasieu Parish with an initiative they started called, "Service Saturdays'' to assist service men and women who live 50+ miles away from a military facility. If you or a fellow Veteran would like a free turkey come out and pick one up on Saturday, November 4, for the 2nd Annual Once Was Inc. Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway.

It is a great way to honor our Veterans and thank them for their sacrifice and service. This year Once Was is teaming up with the Lake Charles Fire Dept. and the event will take place in the parking lot of the Lake Charles Fire Station #6, located at 4200 Kirkman Street. Turkeys will be given away while supplies last to Veterans in SWLA from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
