The hip-hop world has lost another member. On Monday (May 7), Houston rapper Big T passed away at the age of 52.

According to a May 9 report from Billboard, Big T, whose real name was Terence Prejean, passed away on Monday at a Houston hospital. While an official cause of death is currently unknown, Big T's longtime friend, Tony Williams, says it may have been due to a heart attack. He is survived by a wife and children.

Known to many as the "Million Dollar Hook Man," Big T frequently collaborated with other artists, doing the choruses for their songs. The rapper is perhaps most known for his 1999 collaboration with Lil' Troy, "Wanna Be a Baller."

"Wanna be a baller, shot caller/Twenty-inch blades on the Impala/Call her, gettin' laid tonight/Swisha rolled tight, got sprayed by Ike/I hit the highway, making money the fly way/But there's got to be a better way!/A better way, better way, yeah," he sang on the track.

Raised in a musical family, Big T released his own album, Million Dollar Hooks, in 2001. “My brother has been in the (music) business since he was 5 years old,” his sister, Ann Prejean, said.

Following his death, fellow Texas rappers such as Paul Wall, Lil Flip and more paid their respects. "MAN BIG T ALWAYS CAME THRU 4 ME AND SUNG HOOKS 4 ME!! MAN WE WAS ABOUT TO START ON OUR #LILFLIPANDBIGT ALBUM MAN IM GO MISS U BRO," Lil Flip wrote on Instagram.
