The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a student at LaGrange on Tuesday, November 19, for threats against the school.

According to a media release from Kim Myers, the assistant principal at LaGrange High School was informed by a student that a 14-year-old student made comments about having a bomb in her backpack, stating she was going to “blow this (expletive) up." The juvenile was detained and no bomb was found in her backpack, said Myers.

The student is charged with terrorism and is being processed through the MARC (Multi-Agency Resource Center).
