Sulphur Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault
CPSO detectives arrested the man responsible for aggravated assault with a firearm at a Sulphur nightclub on Friday, January 5.
At approximately 5 a.m., on January 5, deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a nightclub on South Cities Service Highway in reference to a shooting, where witnesses told detectives the suspect got into a verbal argument with someone inside the club. The suspect then exited the club, got into his "tan or gold late model 4 door Ford F-150 with running boards", and circled the parking lot. The suspect then shot toward the nightclub from his truck, hitting the building and a parked vehicle.
According to a media release, after a still image was sent out to media outlets and the public, 42-year-old Terrell G. Istre, Jr. of Sulphur, turned himself in on Saturday, January 6 at approximately 7 p.m.
Istre was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He's charged with aggravated assault with a firearm; and aggravated criminal property damage.
While his bond has been set at $10,000, the case is still reportedly under investigation.
