The Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is calling all gingerbread house makers in SWLA. It's time once again for the Annual Gingerbread House Contest, and if you'd like to participate, the deadline to enter is Wednesday November 16, 2016. There are three divisions of entry: amateur, professional, and school groups. You don't have to be a pro at this; you can just have fun.

This is the sweetest contest in Louisiana, and each year lures visitors from all over the country to the Welcome Center with the wonderful aromas of cinnamon and holiday gingerbread spices. As SWLA celebrates the Christmas holiday, the annual contest is a great way to experience the joy of the season.

Entry forms are available now at the CVB, located at 1205 N. Lakeshore Drive. The Annual Gingerbread House Contest will be held at the same location, beginning at noon, with an awards ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 3. Then for the rest of month, all of the gingerbread houses will remain on display for everyone to enjoy. Plus, during this time, visitors will be able to vote on which house will win the People's Choice Award. That winner will be announced Tuesday, December 27.

Remember the deadline to register is Wednesday, November 16, and entries must be delivered to the Convention & Visitors Bureau between 1 – 4:30pm. For contest rules and more details, contact Shanna Landry (337) 436-9588, toll free at 1-800-456-SWLA, or visit www.visitlakecharles.org/gingerbread.
