Malcolm X, the beloved '60s activist and revolutionary — who's also a popular figure in hip-hop — would've been 92 years old today (May 19).

All day today people have been sharing photos and quotes from the late civil rights leader, and it's easy to tell that his words affected all races, both genders and different generations.

Here are some of the quotes that were pulled by Twitter users.

"You don't have to be a man to fight freedom. All you have to do is to be an intelligent human being."

And this one that captured Malcolm's fiery side and his willingness to match force with force, which some of the civil rights leaders of his day were vastly against:

"Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone but if someone puts his hands on you, send him to the cemetery."
