An early morning (5 am) shooting on Highway 90 East in Lake Charles, on Feb. 3, led to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies arresting two men who had an argument in the parking lot of a local night club and shot at each other.

According to a media release from Kim Myers, deputies located one of the men with a gunshot wound, Kato J. Harrison, 29, of Lake Charles. He was taken to a local hospital and treated, but before Harrison was taken away he was treated by EMT's where a "small bottle with what is believed to be PCP" was found on him.

Deputies then learned a second man, Thomas M. Chargois', 29, of Lake Charles was dropped off at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Chargois' truck was still at the scene and searched, where detectives found a "small plastic bag of small plastic bag of suspected marijuana, a small plastic bag of suspected oxycodone, 2 small bags of suspected crack cocaine, 1 small bag and 1 large bag of suspected powder cocaine", said Myers.

Investigators also found a car at the scene with two guns shots.

Harrison was transferred to a hospital out of town, but after his release he will be arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and possession of CDS I.

Chargois' was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 7, after he was released from the hospital. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with attempted second degree murder; possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence; possession of 400 grams or more of cocaine; 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute CDS II; possession of CDS I, and aggravated criminal damage to property," said Myers.

Harrison’s bond is set at $122,000, and Chargois’ bond is set at $172,500.
