Update: Suspect Arrested in Connection to Medora Street Shooting Death
The Lake Charles Police Department responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Medora Street on Thursday morning, March 1, 2018, at about 5:34 a.m., where they discovered 43-year-old Charles Ray Henry of Lake Charles had been shot. He died after being transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
According to a media release, it was less than 12 hours later on Thursday evening, at approximately 5:22 p.m. when LCPD was dispatched to Highway 14 and 10th Street on a "suspicious circumstance" call. That's where officers discovered 27-year-old Frederick Franklin Jr. of Lake Charles, in the roadway.
Franklin is the suspect in the shooting death of Charles Ray Henry and was arrested without incident. He's charged with 2nd-degree murder. There's was reportedly no bond set when the media release was sent out.
