Wale Releases ‘Before I Shine’ Mixtape [LISTEN]

Wale just gifted fans with a new mixtape titled Before I Shine, an 11-track offering that has previously released material and one song that's never been heard before.

The new cut is called "You Got It Freestyle," where the DMV native talks about being underrated and people taken shots at him under their breath.

"For years now, n----s sneak-dissing just to tell you they care about you / B----- that stay out in Fairfax, ya'll don't know their whereabouts / They don't care about you, cause you stay up at your parents house," he spits.

Based on the name, it's obvious that Before I Shine will serve as a bridge to Wale's next full-length LP Shine, dropping later this year. You can stream the new mixtape below, where you can also see the rapper's dates for The Shine Tour, starting this spring.
